Stefan Oberndorfer (born August 3, 1959 in Munich ) is a German entrepreneur and former racing driver .

Entrepreneur

Stefan Oberndorfer has spent most of his professional life in the restaurant business . Until May 2017, he was the owner of the Schützenlust inn in Solln , the southernmost district of Munich , for many years . In 2012 he founded the Knödel-Express connected to the “Schützenlust” , a delivery service for Bavarian dishes that also changed hands (and location).

NASCAR

In addition to his activities as an innkeeper , Oberndorfer runs a racing driver school. Racing vehicles from the US NASCAR racing series will be used . In 2015 he founded the NASCAR Team Germany in order to compete in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series from 2016 .

Career in motorsport

Stefan Oberndorfer began his racing career in 1981 in the Renault 5 Cup . He got into Formula 3 through Formula Ford in 1984 and in the same year was tenth overall (master Kurt Thiim ahead of Volker Weidler ) in the German championship . After having had to forego further racing activities for three years for professional reasons, he returned to monoposto racing in 1988 and contested one season in the Formula Opel Lotus .

At the end of the 1980s he switched to GT racing and was sixth overall in the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup in 1989 . In the final classification of the Porsche Carrera Trophy 1992 he only had to admit defeat to the Swiss Enzo Calderari and became runner-up.

Stefan Oberndorfer, who also contested two races in the German Touring Car Championship in 1989 , celebrated his greatest international successes in the BPR Global GT Series . 1995 he won together with his compatriot Detlef Hübner on a Porsche 911 GT2 which the series this year, scoring 1,000 km race from Paris .

Oberndorfer ended his career as a driver after the end of the 1989 racing season.
