Bill Pohlad
William "Bill" Pohlad is an American film producer and director .
Pohlad was born the son of the businessman and owner of the Minnesota Twins Carl Pohlad and his wife Eloise. In addition to his production activities, Pohlad also directed two films and also wrote the script for his debut film Old Explorers .
At the 2012 Academy Awards , he was nominated in the Best Picture category for The Tree of Life, along with Sarah Green , Dede Gardner and Grant Hill . The film 12 Years a Slave (2013) brought him various awards and nominations, including a Black Reel Award and an Independent Spirit Award .
