Bill Strutton

Bill Strutton (born February 23, 1918 in South Australia , Australia , † November 23, 2003 in Catalonia , Spain ) wrote scripts for English television series, many of which were also broadcast in Germany .

Career

In 1958 he created with Ivanhoe the first television series based on a novel by Walter Scott . In contrast to the 13-part television series Quentin Durward , which was filmed in France in 1970 , the plot of the novel of the same name by Walter Scott was only the template for the hero's new adventures . In this way 39 episodes were created. The ARD broadcast a total of 13 episodes of the series in 1962 and 1963.

From 1962 he wrote for another television series with Roger Moore as the protagonist : Simon Templar . Even with these scripts, the plot of the novels was often creatively altered. The assumption that this was done in the interests of the audience's taste is supported by the fact that this series ran to 118 episodes.

In addition to other projects, he also participated as an author in a British television production that is particularly well-known in Germany: With Umbrella, Charm and Melon .
