Billy Arjan Singh (born August 15, 1917 - January 1, 2010 ) was an Indian hunter , conservationist and author. He was the first to try to reintroduce tigers and leopards .
He worked with Indira Gandhi to ensure that the former Dudhwa forest reserve was declared a national park. In 1976 he was awarded the gold medal of the World Wildlife Fund for his commitment to nature conservation .
