Career

Bernard's hometown club is CS Fola Esch . There he made the leap into the first team squad in the summer of 2008 at the age of 17. On August 24, 2008, the 4th matchday of the 2008/09 season , he came in the away game and derby against Jeunesse Esch (1: 1) for his first appearance in the BGL Ligue , when he was in the 63rd minute for Luciano Crapa was substituted on. Over time, he fought for a regular place in the team and came in the first two seasons to 30 missions in which he scored a goal. In the 2010/11 season , however, he only came to four missions due to injury. In the following season he was able to fight back his regular place and came to 15 missions.

National team

In March 2009 he was nominated for the first time for the U-21s of the Luxembourg Football Association and made his debut on March 27, 2009 in the qualifier for the U-21 European Football Championship 2011 against Wales (0-0) when he was at halftime for Mirko Albanese was substituted on. Since then he has played three internationals for the U-19s and eight internationals for the U-21s.

On 11 August 2010, the then 19-year-old Bernard made his debut in the senior national team in a friendly against Wales (1: 5), as he, after 86 minutes for Gilles Bettmer came on. The second and so far last game at home against Finland (0: 3) followed on March 26, 2013 .
