Billy Henderson (born August 9, 1939 in Daytona Beach , † February 2, 2007 there ) was an American soul singer and songwriter .

Born as William Henderson, he had his greatest successes as a member of the soul band The Spinners . One of their hits was "I'll Be Around" in America's top 10 in 1972. He formed the band with four high school friends in 1954. Nominated for six Grammy Awards , The Spinners were the second black soul group to be one Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. More recently, Billy Henderson wanted to perform again with three other original members, but after suing the group's manager he was forced to leave the band. Henderson died in a Daytona Beach care facility after complications with his diabetes developed . He was married to Barbara Henderson and had three children.
