William Glen Harold Herrington (born July 14, 1969 in North Babylon , New York - † March 2, 2018 in Palm Springs , California ) was an American porn actor and model , better known by his short name Billy Herrington . In addition to his roles in gay porn, the actor gained popularity as a meme in Japan, where he was the subject of numerous mash-up clips under the nickname Aniki ( 兄 貴 , "older brother") .

Life

Herrington grew up in Long Island . At the age of 24, he began bodybuilding and later became "Real Men of the Month" in the US Playgirl . As a result, Jim French , founder of the porn label Colt Studio Group , became aware of him, who was able to win him over as an actor. He made his debut in 1998 in the film 9½ Inches . A few more films for the Colt and Can-Am Productions labels followed, mostly with a bodybuilding theme. In 2000 he starred in the Danish porn film HotMen CoolBoyz , which was produced by Lars von Trier's production company.

Herrington, confessingly bisexual , also appeared on a number of mainstream talk shows in the 1990s that made him the public image of the gay porn industry. He was considered one of the biggest stars in the 1990s and 2000s, despite only making around 17 films. In 2000 he was named Colt Man of the Year and in 2002 he won an Adult Erotic Gay Video Award in the Best Group Sex Scene category .

In the mid-2000s he retired from the porn industry and focused on his bodybuilding and modeling career, but also worked as a stripper . Muscular Men 3 achieved cult status in Japan and spread in various adaptations in the online communities. In particular, a clip showing him wrestling went viral in Japan, reaching 5 million views. He was nicknamed Aniki there. On February 14, 2008, he traveled to Japan, where more than 10,000 fans greeted him. On the same day, he received his own action toy figure entitled "Panty Wrestling Big Brother".

Herrington died in a car accident on March 2, 2018, at the age of 48.
