Bingham Peak is a pointed 1540 m high peak located about 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km) southeast of Springer Peak in the Webers Peaks in the West Antarctic Heritage Range .
On-site expeditions found fossils at Bingham Peak , including trilobites and mollusks from the Late Cambrian .
Bingham Peak was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the survey of the Ellsworth Mountains in 1961-66 through field surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after Joseph P. Bingham, a polar light researcher who worked at the American research station Eights Station in 1965 .
