Inland waterway class I

The inland Class I is a single class of ship in accordance with the European Conference of Transport Ministers (ECMT).

The specification is different to the west and east of the Elbe :

  • west: Freycinet (Spits, Péniche): length max. 38.5 m; Width max. 5.05 m; Unloading depth max. 2.6 m; Tonnage max. 400 t
  • east: Groß-Finow size : length max. 41 m; Width max. 4.7 m; Unloading depth max. 1.75 m; Tonnage max. 270 t
