Inland waterway class III

The barge Class III is a barge class in accordance with the European Transport Conference (CEMT).

The specification is different to the west and east of the Elbe :

  • west: Gustav-Koenigs-Schiff : length max. 80 m; Width max. 8.2 m; Unloading depth max. 2.5 m; Tonnage max. 1000 t
  • east: length max. 70 m; Width max. 9 m; Unloading depth max. 2 m; Tonnage max. 700 t
    for associations : length max. 132 m; Width max. 9 m; Unloading depth max. 2 m; Tonnage max. 1200 t
