Biomechanical is a British Thrash and Progressive Metal band from London, founded in 1999 .

history

The band was founded in April 1999 by John K. ( Balance of Power ). Initially he wrote, arranged and recorded all the songs himself, except for the songs existence and survival, which Chris Webb and Jamie Hunt also wrote. Hunt programmed and arranged the drums, with drummer Matt C. also participating. For the debut album Eight Moons , Adam Rose also contributed to the writing of the songs. During the recordings for this Steve Forward was first used on the electric guitar, before he left the band and he was replaced by Chris Webb. Together with Webb and John K., guitarist Jamie Hunt, bassist Jon Collins and drummer Matt C. released their first EP. The EP included original recordings with guitarist Steve Forward and the song Distorted, on which Chris Webb could be heard. After the release, the Bant went into the studio with producer Steve Brown to record the debut album Eight Moons . The album was recorded and mixed by John K and mastered by Ray Staff at Sony Mastering at Whitfield Street Studios . After the band had reached a contract with Revolver Records , the debut album appeared on this label. Through the label, the band reached the attention of Elitist Records , a subsidiary of Earache Records , so that the band reached a contract with this label on September 3, 2004. For the second album The Empires of the Worlds , bassist Jon Collins took part in the writing process of the songs. The album was mixed by Andy Sneap . Empires of the Worlds was released in June 2005. This was followed by a European tour with Decapitated , Stampin Ground , Exodus and 3 Inches of Blood . She also opened up for Shadows Fall and Nevermore . In 2006 and 2007 John K. wrote the next album Cannibalized. The album was produced by Chris Tsangarides , who also worked for Judas Priest . The album was mixed in the summer of 2007. It was mastered by Jon Ashley at Close to the Edge Studios . The album was released in February 2008. After that, the band played at festivals all over Europe, the group now consisted of John K., guitarist Gus Drax, bassist Adrian Lambert and drummer Jonno Lodge.

style

The band plays a mix of fast thrash and progressive metal. The songs are comparable to works by bands like Emperor , Strapping Young Lad and Meshuggah .
