Biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid (HO 2 CC 6 H 4 C 6 H 4 CO 2 H) is an aromatic chemical compound . The structure consists of two benzene rings , each with a carboxy group  (-COOH) attached in the para position .

BPDCA was deposited on calcite in experiments on self-assembling nanostructures.
