Tomakivka ( Ukrainian Томаківка ; Russian Томаковка Tomakowka ) is an urban-type in the south of the Ukrainian oblast Dnipropetrowsk and the administrative center of the Rayon Tomakivka . The place has 7000 inhabitants (2015) and is located 31 km west of Zaporizhia and 73 km south of the Dnipro Oblast center . The national trunk road N 23 runs in the south of the municipality

history

By the Cossacks founded in 1552 under the name "Uchod Tomakivka" the place was until 1593 a Sitsch the Zaporozhye Cossacks . In 1956 the village was given urban-type settlement status.
