history

In 1887 a train station was built in the course of the construction of a line of the Katharinenbahn and a village was founded 4 km away and named after the landowner Erasta Brodskoho Erastiwka . In 1899, on the initiative of Erasta Brodskoho, an agricultural culture school was opened. Tsar Nicholas II had already given permission for this in 1895 and made 40 hectares of land available to finance the construction of the academic building and for the student guest house. Until 1917 the village was more of a railway supply station, but with the development of rail traffic, that of the village developed in parallel. The number of people, especially railway workers, increased especially in 1926 and especially after the Great Patriotic War of 1941 to 1945.

In 1957 the village became an urban-type settlement and in 1961 the settlement was renamed Wyschnewe (German: cherry) due to the large number of cherry trees in the village .
