Palmyriwka ( Ukrainian Пальмирівка ; Russian Пальмировка Palmirowka ) is a village in the western part of the Ukrainian Oblast Dnipropetrovsk with 428 inhabitants (2012).

history

The village is believed to have been founded towards the end of the 18th century. The first written mention of the village comes from 1859. From August 13, 1941 to October 1943, the village was occupied by Wehrmacht troops.

geography

The village is located in the center of the Pyatychatky Raion on the upper reaches of the Losowatka , a tributary of the Saksahan , and borders in the north on the Oleksandrija Raion belonging to the Kirovohrad Oblast . The nearest cities are the district center Pyatychatky 14 km south and Schowti Vody 29 km southwest of Palmyrivka.

Palmyriwka is the administrative center of the district council of the same name, founded in 1918. The total area of ​​the municipality is 89.57 km² with a population of 1,400 residents (2012). The population density of the district council is 16 inhabitants per km².
