Sloboschanske ( Ukrainian Слобожанське ; Russian Слобожанское Slobozhanskoye ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine and part of the metropolitan area of Dnipro . The place has 13,000 inhabitants (2015) and is located in both the Dnepropetrovsk Oblast and the Dnipro Raion . The place is 12 km north of downtown Dnipro and 8 km south of Pidhorodne . Both cities can be reached via the M 04 / E 50 highway , which passes by the site.

history

The place was founded on June 22, 1987 as a spin-off from the northern Pidhorodne under the name Juwilejne (Ukrainian Ювілейне) and at the same time received the status of an urban-type settlement in the same year. On May 12, 2016 the place was renamed Sloboschanske due to the Ukrainian decommunization laws.
