Vitalijus Gailius (2011)

Vitalijus Gailius (born July 31, 1969 in the Radviliškis district ) is a Lithuanian liberal politician and lawyer , Mayor of Joniškis since April 2019 , former Seimas member (2016-2019).

Life

In 1994 Gailius completed his bachelor's degree in law at the Lietuvos policijos akademija and in 2006 his master's degree ( law and police activities) at the Mykolo Romerio universitetas in Vilnius . From 1990 to 2000 he worked in Joniškis and from 2000 to 2007 in Panevėžys as chief inspector of the criminal investigation department . From 2007 to 2010 he was Deputy Head of Lietuvos kriminalinės policijos biuras and from 2010 to 2012 Director of FNTT . In 2011, Andrius Kubilius promoted him to general in the FNTT's office.

From November 2012 to April 11, 2019, Gailius was a member of the Seimas , selected in the Pakruojis - Joniškis constituency (No. 46) ( Lietuvos Respublikos liberalų sąjūdis ). He has been the mayor of the Joniškis district since mid-April 2019 . He was selected in the 2019 local elections in Lithuania .
