Pysmenne ( Ukrainian Письменне ; Russian Письменное Pismennoye ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine with 1222 inhabitants (2016).
The settlement is located in Rajon Wassylkiwka in central Ukraine Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 18 km west of Rajonzentrum Wassylkiwka . The settlement council community also includes 12 villages Werbiwske (Вербівське) Woswratne (Возвратне) Woroniske (Воронізьке) Dibriwka (Дібрівка) Selenyj Haj (Зелений Гай) Iwaniwske (Іванівське) Kirovske (Кіровське) Dubjanzi (Луб'янці) , Novoiwaniwka (Новоіванівка), Rubaniwske (Рубанівське), Solonzi (Солонці) and Shevchenkivske (Шевченківське).
It was created after the construction of a railway station in 1884, from 1886 German-speaking settlers settled here under the colonizer Kilmann, the place was called Kilmannstal . After the German-speaking residents were expelled or deported after the end of the Second World War , the place was named Pysmenne in 1946 after the former landowner of the area and in 1957 raised to an urban-type settlement.
