Birgit Heitland (born December 15, 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since May 19, 2017, she has been a member of the Hessian State Parliament ( MdL ).

Live and act

After Birgit Heitland had worked as a pharmaceutical technical assistant in the pharmacy service, she continued her education as a training officer and team coach and most recently worked as a freelance training officer for pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry. She is Protestant, married and has two children.

In 1999, Heitland was a founding member of the Zwingenberg Women's Union , acted as its chairman until 2003 and was a member of the board of the Bergstrasse District Women's Union between 2000 and 2002. As a city councilor, she has been a member of the Zwingenberg city council since 2001, between 2001 and 2003 as deputy parliamentary group chairwoman and between 2003 and 2006 and between 2012 and 2016 as chairwoman. She has been a member of the Bergstrasse district council since 2006 and has been the deputy chairwoman of the district council there since 2012.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2008 , 2009 and 2013 , Heitland was a deputy candidate in constituency 55 (Bergstrasse Ost) . After Peter Stephan resigned his state parliament mandate due to age on May 18, 2017, Birgit Heitland moved up for him in the Hessian state parliament. In the state election on October 28, 2018 , she was elected as a member of the state parliament with 31.6 percent of the votes in the constituency of Bergstrasse Ost. There she is a member of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing, the Petitions Committee and the Social and Integration Policy Committee.
