Birnbaum is a German short film from 2007 directed by Ronald Scharf . The story about a young couple who grotesquely indulges in old age, won among other things the highest awards "Predicate particularly valuable" and "Shortfilm Of The Month" from the German film and media rating FBW. The film was funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate and Bremen Film Funds.

Birnbaum tells a seemingly surreal, humorous story of love, jealousy, youth and old age. Frieda and Bruno, a young couple, live in a world of twisted values and indulge in old age. The two of them dress old and talk precociously, and Bruno doesn't just cheat on Frieda with older women. Frieda is jealous, but does not give up her love. But Bruno is already planning further and would like to bring forward his own death from old age.
