The diocese of Chișinău ( lat . : Dioecesis Chisinauensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in the Republic of Moldova .
history
After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the establishment of the Republic of Moldova, Pope John Paul II established an Apostolic Administration in Chișinău on October 28, 1993 , which covers the entire country, from cedings of the dioceses of Iași and Tiraspol . This administration, whose believers live in a pronounced diaspora situation , was elevated to a diocese on October 27, 2001.
