The Diocese of Città della Pieve ( Latin Dioecesis Civitatis Plebis ) was one in Italy located Roman Catholic diocese based in Citta della Pieve in Umbria .

history

The diocese of Città della Pieve was established on September 25, 1600 by Pope Clement VIII with the Apostolic Letter In Supereminenti .

On September 30, 1986, the diocese of Città della Pieve was merged with the Archdiocese of Perugia to form the Archdiocese of Perugia-Città della Pieve by the Congregation for the Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis .

After its foundation, the diocese of Città della Pieve was directly subordinate to the Holy See as a suffragan . On August 17, 1972, it became a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Perugia. It last comprised 19 parishes . on an area of ​​about 450 km².
