The Diocese of Francistown ( lat. : Diocesis Francistaunensis ) is in Botswana located diocese of the Roman Catholic Church based in Francistown .

history

It was established on June 27, 1998 from parts of the territory of the diocese of Gaborone as an Apostolic Vicariate and in 2007 assigned to the Archdiocese of Pretoria as a suffragan . The territory of the diocese covers about two thirds of the national territory of Botswana.

On October 2, 2017, Pope Francis elevated the Vicariate Apostolic to the rank of diocese.
