Franklyn Nubuasah

Franklyn Nubuasah SVD (born July 7, 1949 in Likpe Abozome ) is a Botswana religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Gaborone .

Life

Franklyn Nubuasah joined the religious order of Steyler Missionaries and was ordained a priest on July 26, 1980 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Francistown and Titular Bishop of Pauzera on June 27, 1998 . The Bishop of Gaborone , Boniface Tshosa Setlalekgosi , ordained him episcopal on November 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Erwin Hecht OMI , Bishop of Kimberley , and Johannes Ludgerus Bonaventure Brenninkmeijer OP , Bishop of Kroonstad .

Since 2002 Nubuasah has been coordinator of the South African Bishops' Conference for the Catholic Church's initiatives against HIV / AIDS.

With the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate to the diocese of Francistown on October 2, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him its first diocesan bishop .

On June 6, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Gaborone. The inauguration took place on August 17 of the same year.
