The Diocese of Jining ( Latin : Dioecesis Zinimensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Jining in the People's Republic of China .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Vicariate Tsining with the Breve Ex apostolico munere on February 8, 1929 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Xiwanzi . With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946.

On October 20, 1995, after many years of vacancy , John Liu Shi-gong, elected in 1989 by the priests of the diocese and approved by the government, received the episcopal ordination . The bishop appears to have been in communion with the Holy See .
