The Diocese of Jilin ( lat. : Dioecesis Chilinensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic diocese based in Jilin .

history

The diocese of Jilin was established on May 10, 1898 as a result of the division of the Apostolic Vicariate of Manchuria into the Apostolic Vicariates of North Manchuria and South Manchuria. On December 3, 1924, the Apostolic Vicariate of North Manchuria was renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Jilin .

The Apostolic Vicariate Jilin was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Shenyang as a suffragan .
