The diocese of Møre (Norwegian: Møre bispedøme ) is one of the eleven dioceses of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norway . The official seat of the current incumbent bishop Ingeborg Midttømme is in Molde ; The cathedral is the Molde Domkirke .

history

The diocese of Møre was founded on September 18, 1983. The district of Sunnmøre of the diocese Bjørgvin and Møre og Romsdal and Nordmøre of the diocese of Nidaros were separated and combined into the new diocese.

scope

The diocese comprises 97 parishes in 7 provosts (Norwegian prosti ) in the Norwegian province of Møre og Romsdal . There are 266,856 people in this area as of January 1, 2018, of whom 213,080 are Church members.
