The diocese of Meerut ( lat. : Dioecesis Meerutensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Meerut .

history

The diocese of Meerut was on February 20, 1956 by Pope Pius XII. built from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Agra and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On March 23, 1972, the Diocese of Meerut gave up parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Exarchate Bijnor .
