The Diocese of Satna ( Latin Dioecesis Satnensis ) is a diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church, which is united with the Roman Catholic Church, with its seat in Satna in India . It is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Bhopal .
history
On July 29, 1968, the Satna Apostolic Exarchate was established from parts of the Jabalpur diocese and Abraham D. Mattam became its exarch . When the Exarchate became a diocese in 1977, Mattam became a bishop. In 1999 he was replaced as bishop by Matthew Vaniakizhakel .
