The diocese of Jabalpur ( Latin : Dioecesis Iabalpurensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese . It is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Bhopal .

history

Originally built on July 18, 1932 from areas of the dioceses of Allahabad and Nagpur as the Apostolic Prefecture of Jubbulpore and renamed the Apostolic Prefecture of Jabalpur on October 21, 1950, the elevation to the diocese took place in 1954.

On September 13, 1963, the diocese lost parts of its territory to the newly established Archdiocese of Bhopal. The next loss of territory came in 1968 when the Apostolic Exarchate of Satna was established.
