Leobard D'Souza , known as Bishop Bhai , (born January 18, 1930 in Igatpuri , Maharashtra , † December 19, 2005 ) was Bishop of Nagpur in India .

Life

Leobard D'Souza received on 22 December 1956, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1964 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed titular bishop of Caput Cilla and appointed coadjutor in the diocese of Jabalpur . He was ordained bishop on December 3, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. self; Co- consecrators were John Kodwo Amissah , Bishop of Cape Coast , Ghana , and James William Gleeson , Coadjutor Archbishop of Adelaide , Australia . In 1965 he was appointed bishop of Jabalpur . In 1975 Paul VI appointed him. to the Archbishop of Nagpur.

His resignation was granted in 1998 by John Paul II .
