Théophane Matthew Thannickunnel
Théophane Matthew Thannickunnel OPraem (born September 23, 1928 in Plassanal ; † November 18, 2016 ) was an Indian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Jabalpur .
Life
Théophane Matthew Thannickunnel joined the religious order of the Premonstratensians at and received on 15 August 1959, the priestly ordination .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 1, 1976 Bishop of Jabalpur. The Archbishop of Bhopal , Eugene Louis D'Souza MSFS , ordained him episcopal on March 31 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were his predecessor Leobard D'Souza , Archbishop of Nagpur , and Joseph Pallikaparampil , auxiliary bishop in Palai .
On May 16, 2001, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
