Gerald Almeida
Gerald Almeida (born March 7, 1946 in Udyavar ) is Bishop of Jabalpur .
Life
Gerald Almeida was ordained a priest on December 14, 1974 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Jabalpur on May 20, 1997 . He was ordained episcopal on September 17th of the same year by the Bishop of Jabalpur, Théophane Matthew Thannickunnel OPraem ; Co- consecrators were Paschal Topno SJ , Archbishop of Bhopal , and Leobard D'Souza , Archbishop of Nagpur .
After Théophane Matthew Thannickunnel's retirement , he succeeded him on May 16, 2001 in the office of Bishop of Jabalpur.
