Diocese of Zealand
The Diocese of Zealand ( Danish Sjællands Stift ) was from 1537 to 1922 a diocese of the Danish national church . The seat of the diocese was Copenhagen.
Around 1620 the Provostry of the Faroe Islands moved from the Diocese of Bergen to the Diocese of Zealand, and in 1720 it was transferred to the Diocese of Iceland . In 1755 the provost returned to the Diocese of Zealand, which in 1922 was divided into the dioceses of Copenhagen and Roskilde .
