Werner Jasper Andreas von Moltke

Liege Count Werner Jasper Andreas von Moltke (born September 15, 1755 in Walkendorf , † August 15, 1835 in Køge ) was a German nobleman in the Danish-Norwegian and later Danish state services.

Origin and family

Moltke's father was Eberhard Friedrich Ehrenreich von Moltke (1727–1781), his mother was his first wife Maria Dorothea Margareta, née. von Oertzen (1726–1767). After the death of his mother, von Moltke's father married Ida Margrethe Erneste von Raben (1744–1817) in 1768, since the marriage remained childless, von Moltke had no siblings throughout his life.

On June 2, 1783 von Moltke married Ida Elisabeth Lütken (1763–1797) in Nakskov . In 1798 he married Johanne Caspara Rosenørn (1767–1829). Together they had the son Ludwig von Moltke .

Life

On March 7, 1776 von Moltke was accepted into the Danish nobility. In 1834 he received the patent to be a liege count .

Von Moltke was from 1787 to 1796 mayor of Roskilde and from 1810 to 1816 mayor of Zealand , in this capacity also magistrate of the Faroe Islands , based in Copenhagen .
