Diocese of Sisteron
The diocese of Sisteron ( lat. : Dioecesis Sistaricensis ) was one in France situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Sisteron .
history
The diocese of Sisteron was established in the 4th century. The first bishop was Chrysaphius .
On November 29, 1801, the Diocese of Sisteron was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the Archdiocese of Avignon and the Diocese of Digne .
The diocese of Sisteron was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Aix as a suffragan . In 1764 the diocese of Sisteron comprised 80 parishes .
