Bishopric of Sarlat
The diocese of Sarlat ( lat. : Dioecesis Sarlatensis ) was one in France situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Sarlat-la-Caneda .
history
The St. Sacerdos of Limoges consecrated Bishopric Sarlat was on August 13, 1317 by Pope John XXII. Erected from cessions of territory by the diocese of Périgueux . The first bishop was Raimond de Roquecorn .
On November 29, 1801, the diocese of Sarlat was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the papal bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the diocese of Angoulême .
The diocese of Sarlat was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Bordeaux as a suffragan . At the beginning of the 18th century, the Sarlat diocese comprised around 300 parishes .
