The Diocese of Zhoucun (Latin: Dioecesis Ceuziienensis ), located in the People's Republic of China , was founded on April 16, 1929 as a Mission sui juris from Changtien. Raised to the Apostolic Prefecture on June 1, 1932 , it was made the Apostolic Vicariate of Chowtsun on May 18, 1937 and on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to the diocese .
The diocese belonging to the ecclesiastical province of Jinan was a mission area of the Franciscans (OFM) , which also provided the vicars apostles and the first bishop Henry Ambrose Pinger . He died on September 24, 1988.
Due to the political situation, the diocese could not be occupied by the Vatican between 1988 and 2018 :
