Björn Matthias Jotzo (born January 12, 1975 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( FDP ), lawyer and specialist lawyer for tenancy and residential property law as well as specialist lawyer for building and architectural law .

Life

Björn Jotzo grew up in Berlin-Wilmersdorf . After graduating from high school at Walther-Rathenau-Gymnasium and doing community service, he began studying law at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 1995 . He passed his legal state exams in 2000 and 2004, also in Berlin. Since then he has been working there as an independent lawyer. Jotzo is a specialist lawyer for tenancy and residential property law as well as a specialist lawyer for construction and architectural law.

In 1996 Jotzo joined the FDP.

In 2001 he was elected to the district council of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, where he was the spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group on budget and building policy.

In 2006 he ran in the constituency of Berlin-Schmargendorf for the Berlin House of Representatives and was elected from the district list. From 2006 to 2011 he was spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group for home affairs and budget policy in the Berlin House of Representatives . He was a member of the main committee , the interior committee and the sub-committees for data protection as well as product management and human resources . From 2009 to 2011 he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group and from 2010 its parliamentary manager. In the elections for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 , the FDP did not move back into the House of Representatives with 1.8 percent, whereupon he handled the business of the parliamentary group as liquidator.

After the FDP succeeded in entering parliament in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , the FDP parliamentary group elected Jotzo as their interim manager .
