Bjorn Lehmann

Björn Lehmann (* 1973 in Cologne ) is a German pianist and university professor.

Life

Lehmann studied at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and the Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Klaus Hellwig . He has won several prizes, including first prize at the “Curso-concurso Palazzolo sull'Oglio” and the “Hanns Eisler Prize for the Interpretation of Contemporary Music” and has given concerts in various ensembles at festivals and on tours in numerous European countries, in Japan , South Korea, China, South and Central America. Lehmann recorded several CDs, both solo and in a duo with the violinist Sophia Jaffé .

Since 2009 he has been playing with the pianist Norie Takahashi in the PianoDuo Takahashi | Lehmann, who has so far released two CDs that have received very positive reviews. The CD Originals and beyond was “CD of the month” at Fono Forum (February 2015).

From 2004 to 2011 he taught piano at the Academy for Tonkunst in Darmstadt. In 2011 he accepted a professorship for piano at the Berlin University of the Arts.
