Björn Lemmer (born April 6, 1942 in Kassel ) is a German pharmacologist .

Björn Lemmer studied medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1962 to 1968 . He received his doctorate in 1968 at the University of Ulm and completed his habilitation in 1974 in Frankfurt at the Institute for Pharmacology (headed by Dieter Palm ). He then became Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Frankfurt in 1975 and Full Professor at the Medical Faculty Mannheim at the University of Heidelberg in 1994 , where he was Director of the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology until his retirement in 2007.

His main research area is chronopharmacology . He is on the editorial board of Chronobiology International (1984-2020), Biological Rhythm Research, Current Hypertension Reviews and La Clincia Terapeutica (Italy).

From 1983 to 1994 Björn Lemmer was a member of the Expert Committee on Prescription Requirements in the Federal Ministry for Youth, Family and Health. In 1998 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Université Bordeaux-II . Björn Lemmer was on the Supervisory Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) from 2007 to 2019 .
