Bjørnar Holmvik (born June 2, 1985 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian football player . The full-back , who went through several Norwegian youth selections, became Norwegian national champion in 2008 with Stabæk Fotball .
Career
Holmvik started playing soccer at the Sportsforeningen Grei . In 2001 he made his debut in the Norwegian U-16 team and in the same year began training in sports science at Bjerke videregående skole , a secondary school that Mohammed Abdellaoue , Daniel Braaten and Erik Johnsen had also attended. In 2004 he successfully completed his training.
About the Norwegian youth selections, Holmvik drew attention in top-class Norwegian football and went to Stabæk Fotball in 2003 , where he was initially used in the youth team. In the 2004 season he made his debut in the Tippeligaen when he came on shortly before the end in the 2-1 away win against Rosenborg BK . After the team had missed relegation in the first division, he fought for a regular place in the defense chain in the following second division season under the newly committed coach Jan Jönsson and contributed with two goals in 29 games to direct promotion. The good performance also brought him the nomination for the Norwegian U-21 selection in early 2006 .
However, Holmvik could not build on the strong season and lost his regular place on the left defensive side to Tom Stenvoll , with whom he also fought for the position in the following years and was therefore only used irregularly. In the 2008 season he played 15 games for the club from Bærum and was celebrated as the Norwegian national champion at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, Holmvik Stabæk left Fotball and moved to SK Brann on a free transfer , where he was number 26. Under coach Steinar Nilsen he was part of the regular formation from the first game of the season against Sandefjord Fotball .
Parallel to his football career, Holmvik also started a career as a futsal player at the end of 2008 .
