Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg (born February 21, 1996 in Denmark ) is a Danish professional League of Legends player and member of the e-sports team Team SoloMid . He plays in the midlane position.

Career

Bjerg achieved his first successes at the end of 2012 with his then team Copenhagen Wolves . The Danish team achieved top places in some smaller tournaments and qualified for the LCS professional league, which was newly introduced in 2013 . At the beginning of the LCS Bjergsen could not yet play for his team because he had not yet reached the minimum age of 17 years. He could only be used for his team during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the Copenhagen Wolves finished fifth in the eight-team league.

Subsequently, the Copenhagen Wolves players were hired by the organization Ninjas in pajamas . The LCS summer season was only moderate for the team and was characterized by numerous line-up changes. At the end of the season, the team finished 6th and in the relegation game that was due, the team was defeated by the Polish team Roccat . The team then disintegrated, but Bjergsen's individual performance was convincing, so that in November 2013 he was signed by the successful North American organization Team SoloMid (TSM).

His debut season in North America was already relatively successful, in the end TSM took second place in the LCS Spring Split, behind Cloud 9 . The team improved this result in the 2014 Summer Split. In the final, TSM met Cloud 9 again and won this time. TSM thus succeeded in re-qualifying for the annual World Cup, which takes place in autumn and is endowed with around 2 million US dollars . In his first Worlds Bjergsen was able to survive the group phase with TSM, but in the quarterfinals the team lost 3-1 to the eventual world champion Samsung Galaxy White .

At the beginning of 2015 Bjergsen surprisingly won the Intel Extreme Masters Season 9 Finals in Katowice, Poland. In the final, the team beat the Chinese representative Team WE , which in turn had eliminated the big tournament favorites from South Korea, the GE Tigers, in the semifinals. TSM was also able to defend its continental championship title in the LCS. Bjergsen received the MVP Award for his achievements .

In 2016 and 2017, TSM continued to dominate the LCS, winning three of the four possible titles. Bjergsen also impressed individually and collected further MVP awards. At the World Championships, however, TSM missed both times the entry into the knockout round.
