The villa at Blücherstraße 4 is a registered monument in the Lower Saxony spa town of Bad Sachsa and is now known as Villa Vida . Here it is located as part of a hotel complex in the immediate vicinity of the Schmelzteich , a lake that was artificially created in the 16th century in today's spa district of the city. Another architectural monument is a garden pavilion located on the property and dating from 1904 .

The villa was built in 1900 and originally served as the summer residence of the family of the then Russian ambassador Franz Uthemann from St. Petersburg , whose main residence was in Wiesbaden . Some time later, in 1904, a tea pavilion that has been preserved to this day was purchased, presented at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900 and auctioned by Uthemann as a gift to his wife.

In the early 1920s, the owners changed. In 1923 the property was acquired by the Lohhoff family, which led to the fact that the main building became known in the city as the "Lohhoff'sche Villa". The owner Emil Lohoff was the owner of the Tettenborn- based Harzer Holzwarenfabrik , once the world's largest manufacturer of clothespins .

At the end of the 1930s, the chief gynecologist at the district hospital in Nordhausen moved his residence to the villa for some time and set up a delivery room here, which ultimately resulted in several births in the villa.

From 1945 to 1951, the composer and musician Norbert Schultze (1911–2002) lived with his wife in the villa. A few years earlier, Schultze had composed one of his best-known works, the soldier's song Lili Marleen , which made the North German singer Lale Andersen (1905–1972) world famous. One of the numerous versions was also sung by Marlene Dietrich (1901–1992).

In 1992 the property was integrated into the neighboring complex of the "Romantischer Winkel" hotel, which was built in 1978. The owner family Oelkers had previously acquired the property and villa for 4,900,000 Deutschmarks. The main building was subsequently renamed "Villa Vida".

The owners Anna Maria and Wolfgang Oelkers opened their hotel in 1978 and gradually expanded its capacity and equipment. At the beginning the hotel had a total of 30 beds, currently there are 140. In 2001 the facility was handed over to Nora and Josef Oelkers.

At present, Villa Vida has a children's club, several conference rooms and a house chapel.
