Blac Head Lion is a new rock / alternative rock band from Ludwigshafen am Rhein , which was founded in 2005 by the brothers Alain and Steve Slimani.

history

The band was founded in 2005 under the name "Chucks" by the two brothers Alain (guitar, vocals) and Steve Slimani (drums). Julian Felger (guitar), Marco Kollenz (guitar) and Amine Benadouda (bass) completed the band. With three guitarists, which is rather a rarity, they soon had a trademark.

Since 2008 the Chucks have played in the opening act for some rock stars. In October 2008 they played two shows for the Michael Schenker Group in their “In The Midst Of Beauty World Tour”. Shortly afterwards in November and December they played with the Danes Pretty Maids and the Krautrockers Epitaph . In the same month they also played for the Australian band Airbourne in the sold-out Colos hall in Aschaffenburg. There was also a concert with the Swedish power metal band Sabaton . In 2008 the band also released their demo, which they sold through their own distribution.

In 2009 the Chucks played for the second time with Manfred Mann's Earth Band in the opening act and appeared with The Sweet at a festival. In the same year they played at the Rock of Ages festival in Seebronn, where greats like Status Quo , Gary Moore , Mother's Finest and Doro also played. They also supported Y&T and Uriah Heep .

In 2010 they were on stage at a support show for Foreigner in Frankfurt's Jahrhunderthalle. In 2011 they could play for the rock band Nazareth on their tour "Big Dogz On Tour".

In 2011 the band recorded their debut album 5 Years in 50 Minutes in Cardiff (Wales) with producer Romesh Dodangoda , who had also produced albums for Motörhead and Bullet for My Valentine . Brandon O'Sullivan played bass on the recordings, who then completely replaced Amine Benadouda. To avoid legal problems with the shoe company Converse , the band renamed itself "Blac Head Lion". In the same year, the band shot their first music video with the single Me and Myself . The album was finally released on October 12, 2012 on the Inakustik label.

In the following year the band played a few concerts in various clubs and festivals. In the spring of 2013, the second music video, I Want You , was released. In 2013 the band played mainly at festivals such as B. the Oakfield Festival . Because bass player Brandon O'Sullivan left the band, Alain Slimani switched to bass. Since then, Blac Head Lion has only performed with two guitars.

On May 23, 2014, Blac Head Lion released their third music video for the single Don't Get Mad .
