The Black & White Cooperation is a German-American jazz band. The name arose from the fact that the band consists of two black and two white musicians.

style

The Black & White Cooperation plays its own compositions throughout, the spectrum of the band ranging from ballads to South American music, blues and funk to fusion . The band calls their style of music itself Jazzgroove, the basics of which are the groove and the melody .

When the band was founded in 1991 by Anke Schimpf and Tom Nicholas , the two initially looked for like-minded people. Nicholas previously played with Ornette Coleman and Kenny Burell, among others . In 1996 the bassist Christoph Paulssen joined them and in 2001 the pianist Georg Göb.

Göb, who studied music education and musicology, worked as an experienced (studio) musician with Suzi Quatro , Helen Schneider and Götz Alsmann , among others .
