The Sane-Morte (also spelled Sâne-Morte ) is a river in France that runs through the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions. It rises in the municipality of Foissiat and initially drains in a northerly direction through the Bresse landscape , but then swings to the southwest and after 55 kilometers flows into the Sane-Vive at the village of Moulin de Montjai , in the municipality of Ménetreuil , as a right tributary . On its way, the Sane-Morte crosses the Ain and Saône-et-Loire departments .
