The Blackberry Z10 ( spelling BlackBerry Z10 ) is a smartphone from the Canadian manufacturer Blackberry (formerly: Research In Motion). The device was presented for the first time on January 30, 2013 and is the first from the manufacturer to use the Blackberry 10 operating system, which was also introduced in January 2013 . Sales of the Z10 began in Great Britain on January 31, 2013. The device has been available in Germany since February 22, 2013.
Operation and technical details
A special feature of the operating system is the operating concept, which relies on gesture control for normal operation and works without physical or virtual buttons. The Blackberry Z10 only has buttons for volume control and mute on the side and an on / off button at the top of the device. All controls, including unlocking from standby , are carried out using swiping gestures on the touchscreen . The "home button" that was previously typical for smartphones is no longer required. In contrast to other smartphones, especially the Apple iPhone as a direct competitor, the Z10 has a replaceable battery and a memory that can be expanded with a microSD card .
The device is available for different regions in four different models (STL-100-1, STL-100-2, STL-100-3, STL-100-4), which differ slightly in terms of technical equipment. The models are tailored to the respective conditions of the mobile network.
