Blanca de Borbon
Doña Blanca de Borbón, Infanta of Spain ; full name Doña Blanca de Castilla Maria de la Concepcion Teresa Francisca d'Assisi Margarita Juana Beatriz Carlota Luisa Fernanda Adelgunda Elvira Ildefonsa Regina Josefa Micaela Gabriela Rafaela de Borbón y Borbón (born September 7, 1868 in Graz , Austria ; † October 25, 1949 in Viareggio , Italy ) was a Spanish princess and by marriage Archduchess of Austria-Tuscany.
Life
Blanca was the eldest daughter of Infante Carlos María de Borbón , Duke of Madrid (1848-1909), as " Carlos VII. " Pretender to the Spanish throne, and his wife Princess Margarita of Bourbon-Parma (1847-1893), daughter of Duke Charles III. of Parma and the Princess Louise Marie Thérèse d'Artois .
In 1876 the Spanish King Alfonso XII wanted . marry his first cousin Infanta Maria de las Mercedes d'Orléans-Montpensier . However, this connection found no approval from the royal family - especially the former Queen Isabella II. She had another bride in mind for her son, Doña Blanca. But the king knocked out her and the other candidate and even got the support of the Spanish people. He married his cousin in Madrid in 1878 , but she died of tuberculosis after six months of marriage .
On October 24, 1889, Infanta Blanca married Archduke Leopold Salvator of Austria-Tuscany (1863-1931), eldest son of Archduke Karl Salvator and Princess Maria Immaculata of Naples-Sicily, in Frohsdorf . The marriage had ten children:
