Blasco de Grañén (* around 1400 in Saragossa ; † 1459 there ) was an important Aragonese painter of the late Gothic period . He was court painter to John II of Aragon .

life and work

Almost nothing is known about the life of Blasco de Grañén; His year of birth is also unclear. He was married to Doña Blanca de Tena. His workshop was in Zaragoza, but his clients came from all over Aragón. When he died, at least one of his works was still unfinished and in his will he commissioned his nephew Martín de Soria to complete it.
